Spring 2012 Update

Hello all,
We regret to announce that we have cancelled our scheduled performances in May due to unforeseen commitments.  Jesse has obligations to Killswitch Engage that are too significant to be overlooked.  So we are unable to perform in New York May 11th and 12th as well as Syracuse on May 24th, Montreal on May 25th, and Ontario May 26th and 27th.  We apologize to our fans who were expecting to see us, and we do hope that when the time is right we will be able to work with the promoters to perform in these areas.
As we have mentioned, and most of you know, Jesse has rejoined Killswitch Engage.  He is working hard on a new record and preparing to tour.  The Empire Shall Fall has decided to take some time off from performances.  We will not be doing any more bookings, at least for the remainder of 2012, but likely to go well into 2013.  As soon as we are taking bookings again we will make an announcement.  As far as the Chakra EPs, we are prioritizing the instrumental components of the remaining two EPS.  Much has already been written, and we will continue to post sneak peaks through the process.  When Jesse finally has a break from Killswitch he will finish the lyrical and vocal components, but most likely no earlier than late 2013.  Make no mistake, these EPs will be released as soon as possible on our end.  We are very excited with how they are shaping up.
Stay tuned!  And be sure to check out Jesse on tour with Killswitch Engage and Nick on tour with The Dear Hunter!
Thanks,
The Empire Shall Fall

Update 11/16/11

Hello all!
We are excited to bring you some details about the release of Volume 1.  We can now happily say that it will be released digitally on Tuesday, December 6th (via iTunes and other digital music outlets).  The vinyl will not be completed pressing until the end of December, but we didn’t want to make our fans (who have all been so supportive) wait anymore.  All those who preordered will be emailed the download code several days prior to December 6th release as a thank you for your preorder and as compensation for the delay of the vinyl.  Once we have the vinyl we will ship all the preorders (with all T-shirts, Hoodies, etc).  Due to the special nature of this release we will not be taking orders for any vinyl from December 6th until the preorders ship.  We will also stop taking preorders at the end of November;  November 30th will be your last day to preorder at the discounted prices and package deals.  We have worked very hard on this first installment and cannot wait to share it with you.
A new album release also means something else: new show dates!  For the first time since September of 2010 we will be taking the stage starting in January.  Brooklyn has always been kind to us, so we are pleased to say that our first show back will be there on January 6th.  Below is a list of a few tentative dates (more info and more dates to be released later).  Any questions regarding booking can be directed to TESFbooking@gmail.com.
January 6th-Brooklyn, New York
January 7th-Kearny, New Jersey
January 13th-Providence, RI
January 14th-Boston, MA
Finally, we are working on Volume 2 (and Volume 3).  In the preliminary stage we can safely say that Volume 2 will be a heavier record (this is intentional, and goes with the concept).  We have most of the songs in their skeletal structure, and over the next few months hope to polish things up so we can be recording in the spring (this time hopefully with a faster turn around!).
We are excited to finally bring some new music to everyone, and would like to thank everyone who has helped us, especially with this particular endeavor, and we hope to see you at a show in 2012!

Pre-Order all 3 Vinyls and get a FREE CD!!!

This post is much shorter than the last post.  We have been trying to think of incentives for people to purchase the vinyl.  A lot of you are upset, dissapointed, even pissed that we aren’t pressing the individual EP’s to CD.  Just to refresh, we are printing the 3 individual EP’s to vinyl.  Digital downloads can be purchased for the EP’s, as well.  And, the vinyls come with digital downloads.  Once we complete all 3 EP’s, we will press to CD for a full-length LP.

To sweeten the vinyl deal, we are going to give away the final CD to those who pre-order all 3 EP’s on vinyl.  To clarify, if you pre-order each EP on vinyl, as they become available, once you pre-order the third and final EP, you will qualify for a free CD version of all three EP’s.  You will receive the CD upon receiving the third and final EP on vinyl(it’ll be in the same package).

That’s a pretty good deal.  Everyone wins.  You’d have 3 attractive, and great sounding vinyls, all the tracks in digital format, and a full-length CD for the price of $45.  This is only a pre-order special, so make sure you order the vinyls when they are in the pre-order stage.  Take advantage of this if you insist on having the CD version of the album.

We hope this satisfies everyone’s request for audio format.  We aren’t going to do the hipster thing and make cassettes, so don’t ask.

All the Best,

-TESF

Explanation.

Disclaimer:  This is kind of a long post, but informative.

We’d like to take a moment to discuss the issue of why we have chosen not to press the new EP to CD format.  A lot of you have been asking this question, and this is a little explanation as to why we have made this decision.  First off, let us explain that for the new EP, you will have two options to choose from, when purchasing.

Option #1:  Vinyl

This was our first choice, and our preferred method of pressing.

Vinyl provides the highest audio quality over any other medium, with the exception of maybe 2” tape.

When you compare the sound next to a CD or MP3, the difference is obvious.

We have chosen to use 180 gram vinyl with 2 sides @ 33rpm.

These numbers may not mean anything to a lot of you but, it basically means you are getting the best sounding audio possible.  Another nice thing about vinyl is that the artwork is much bigger.  12 square inches of artwork.  We take pride in all of our artwork.  The man behind all of our art, Matt Yezuita, is pretty much a 6th member of the band.  What better way to display his talent than to give him a bigger canvas to work with?  The artwork for this EP is stunning and we feel that the vinyl packaging will really allow it to shine.  On top of all this, the vinyls come with a high quality digital download.  The packaging will include a card with a download number.  So, when you receive the package, you simply go online, enter the code, and you will automatically download a digital copy of the EP.  So, if you have an ipod or a zune(probably not), no need to worry.  Many people want a CD because they like to have a physical copy, something to hold in their hands.  I(nick) feel the same way.  I hardly download MP3’s.  Believe me, it’s way more satisfying to hold a 12 inch vinyl, than a CD.  What if you don’t have a record player?  You can always buy one.  You can find them all day long on ebay/craigslist for like $50.  But, we aren’t here to make you buy record players, so if you want something physical and still want to listen on your digital device, the vinyl is a great way to go.

Also, the lyrics and production notes will all be included in the vinyl package.  Honestly, for $15 it’s a good deal.

Option #2: High Quality Digital Download

Pretty self-explanatory, but here is some info about this option.

For the pre-orders, we are hosting the downloads on a site to obtain the album.

When the album release date comes, we will email you a code to enter.

Enter the code on the site and you will then be able to download the album, in it’s entirety.

It’s the same process as downloading the album if you purchase the vinyl.

We will be providing these MP3’s in high quality.  We will also host the lyrics sheet and album art on our website for download.  If you need a CD format, you will be able to burn your own CD, even print out the artwork if you’d like.

In this sense, all bases are covered.  If you crave something physical, go with the vinyl.

If you only need MP3’s, just purchase the MP3’s.  If you want something to collect with great artwork, vinyl.

If you want the best sounding audio, vinyl.  If you need a CD to play in your car, get the MP3’s and burn a CD.

Why didn’t we press to CD?

At this point, it’s an extra cost that we don’t see being too beneficial to anyone.

It’s also a waste, because these EP’s will average around 25-30 minutes per EP.

CD’s hold between 60-70 minutes, so there would be a lot of unused space.

Most people have MP3 players.  Not everyone, but most, so for many, digital download is adequate.

Also, we have stated that upon completion of all three EP’s, we will be pressing a CD that will contain all the EP’s.  This will essentially become an LP, at that point.  So, if after all that, you still need an official CD, you can get it.  But, you will have to wait a good 9-12 months for us to release that, as the first EP still hasn’t been released.  I hope this has cleared up some questions that many of you have had.

We do hope that you opt for the vinyl, as we feel it is a good deal, and something special that we have been working on for a while, now.  You will not be disappointed with the vinyl packaging.  As mentioned earlier, the artwork is stunning and really compliments the music.

As always, thank you everyone for your continued support.

We are still DIY, even more so, now.  Please help us continue to make music.

All the Best,

-TESF
